The Permitting Process & Public Participation - State & Local Agencies
 
Governor Kulongoski has designated the Oregon Department of Energy as the lead agency for coordinating all State of Oregon input directly into the FERC review process. The Oregon DOE has responsibility under state law for ensuring that new energy facilities meet siting standards that ensure public health and safety, protect natural resources and protect against adverse environmental impacts. The following state agencies provided input to the ODOE that formed the basis of a Project Order issued to the Project on March 26, 2005:

  • Oregon Division of State Lands (ODSL)

  • Oregon Department of Geology and Minerals Industries (DOGAMI)

  • Oregon Division of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW)

  • Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODOA)

  • Oregon State Fire Marshal

  • Oregon Public Utilities Commission (OPUC)

  • Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ)

  • Land Conservation and Development Commission (LCDC)
